The alt-rockers, who broke up at the start of the millennium are back, with all four original members making up the line-up. Touring the States from east to west, the fierce foursome are also taking the opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their hugely influential debut album, Ruby Vroom. First formed to provide the music to legendary producer Miles Copland's Bellydance Superstars troupe, Beats Antique is composed of David Satori on the guitar, saz and viola, Sidecar Tommy Cappel on the keys and toy piano, and Zoe Jakes, belly dancer, and composer extraordinaire. Together the experimental trio creates a heady fusion of Balkan-style wedding music, electronica, Middle Eastern riffs, Gypsy Jazz and flamenco amongst other world music genres, all packaged within a highly entertaining live show.
